Better Health Campaign - Production Diary
In this post, I will be documentation all the things I have done whilst in the production phase. Firstly, I went to the college gym to get some shots.
The first shot was the main character (Saul) on the treadmill saying 'Inspiration'. At first, I was going to do this on the side and having the camera handheld. However, these videos turned out to be very shaky and not very effective for the video. To improve on this, I got a tripod, positioned it infront of Saul and got him to turn around to say the word of choice. The first shot was a close-up shot and when moving back and using the tripod making it a wide shot showing more area infront and aside of him, it turned out to be a better shot.

The next shot whilst in the gym was Saul lifting the weights, I had one slight problem as other people were talking in the background of the video. I improvised on this and told the other members to be quiet whilst I record the shot that I want. They did this and the shot turned out brilliant.
Next, I went to Goals which are football pitches inside college. I went to the pitches and recorded a shot to use for my production.
I had to get a singular shots but this caused many problems including wind, not getting the shot I needed and lighting. When I first went out to shoot the video, it was very dark and the lighting was not great so I went out for a second time to Goals to see if the lighting was any better. The lighting was much better but however the wind was very strong and this affected the sound and quality of the clip that I was going to use for my video.
Before:
For my radio advert, I needed a quiet room so it could be recorded. We found a quiet room but found a few problems once going to start. One of the problems was that the microphone was not picking up Saul's voice very good so to improvise on this, I got a new microphone from Emma and this worked so much better than the previous as I could see the volume going up more.
