CANON: Post-Production Blog

Canon - Post Production

After gathering all of the photos I needed for my magazine cover and print advert, I started to make the magazine cover and the print advert.

I first started creating my magazine cover on Canva. I gathered all of the images I needed which included a picture of London, the camera and the lenses from the camera. After this, I removed the background of the camera and lenses to make it transparent on the ally way image which I took at Newcastle.

After this, I took a few shapes and interoperated them into the magazine cover. I had a rectangle on the bottom of the image with some text on it and then two circles to put the camera inside the circle.

I had a slight problem on the magazine cover as the font colour as black was not great on top of the image so I changed it to white and that seemed to be much better for the quality of image.

I did some experimentation with images and what looked best for the text which is going to be on the image. I tested a range of different images to see what they would like and whilst there was a lot of choice; there did not seem to be a perfect one for my magazine cover.

Below is the image I used. I thought this was the best image for this campaign as it shows a car which could be used for a journey and also I am showing that you could capture that car with the camera advertised.

For my feedback, my most common response was saying is that the texting is blending with the image so to change my products in response to the feedback; I moved the text down a little on the poster to not make it blend with the image in the background.

Lastly, one of the responses said to change the font of the text to make it bolder so in response, I changed the text alongside the circles and the text next to the lenses to Archivo Black. This made it look a lot better.

For my print cover to be included in the magazine, I went onto Canva and uploaded the metro image which I took whilst in Production.

After adding the image, I got the Canon logo from Google and then put it on the bottom of the poster and from there I put the tagline at the top of the poster which reads 'Go Somewhere, Be Extraordinary.'

Finally, I added a picture of a Canon Camera just above the logo to show how the picture was taken and I have also added it to promote their camera.

After finalizing the print advert, I made a feedback form and got some responses on how to improve the product.

For my feedback, one of the responses noticed that there were shoes at the right hand side of the poster and this makes it look worse. In response to this, I cropped the image and removed the shoes from the image.

Another response said that the font of the text at the top was not great so in response I changed the font from League Spartan font to League Gothic font. I also put the text in the corner so it does not blend with the background image and this made it look better.

Finally, a few responses said I add some more information to the poster so I added more text and placed it in the corner of the poster. I used the same font to keep with the style of the print advert.
